Desription .........  Bred by mixing the Australian Terrier with the Yorkshire Terrier, this dog is known as the Australian Silky Terrier or the “Sidney Silky,” or simply “The Silky.” The result of this interbreeding is a dog with a well-defined figure and soft hair. This dog stands about 9 inches. As expected, a mix between an Australian and a Yorkshire is expected to be an unusual and rather odd breed, which may contradict the word “silky.” Nevertheless, the silky terrier has both a soft coat and a gentle temperament.

The Silky Terrier’s remarkable coat is long and straight, with a color of blue or silvery-blue with gold and chestnut, silvery-blue, and solid pale yellow or red. The Silky Terrier is a dog intended as a family friend and he makes a terrific one. The dog’s hair starts to shine when combed even slightly.
