Many are acquainted with the Bloodhound’s appearance: he has too much skin, which folds and gets in his eyes, making his lower eyelids droop. The long ears hang down onto his cheekbones; that’s why it is said about him that he sweeps all the scents into his enormous and very sensitive nose with his ears.
His huge body is supported by a massive skeleton, and they are typically portrayed in cartoons as following a scent by lowering his head towards the ground. Bloodhounds are stately and tender, but they don’t tolerate mistreatment, and may cut any such familiarities short.
