Desription .........  The Border Terrier descends from a region on the border of England and Scotland. He is popular both as a hunter and as a pet. The fact that many veterinarians keep Border Terriers suggest that he is a dog of good health and character. The Border Terrier is a friendly breed, a dog appropriate for all sorts of people.

His maximum weight is about 15.5 pounds. The Border Terrier is a good worker who easily gets used to living with a family and gets along well with everyone. The Border Terrier has a head with prominent cheekbones, similar to the head of an otter, a strong body covered with a wiry, dense coat and legs capable of carrying him along the fields as long as the owner needs. In the official standard of the breed it is documented that the Border Terrier can follow a horse, which means that his legs are rather long. He isn’t aggressive, but does like to play, and enjoys the company of people. The color can be red, wheat, dark-brown or chestnut with blue; it is easy to pick him up, because he doesn’t weigh much. He doesn’t need much food. The Border Terrier is a very popular breed.
