Desription .........  The Bracco Italiano (Italian Pointer) was bred in Italy at the beginning of XVIII century. The initial goal was to breed a dog that can point to where the prey is. For this purpose, a hound was bred with a gundog. Today the Italian Pointer is a multi-purpose dog that searches for prey, points where it hides and retrieves the wounded prey.

The Bracco Italiano was brought to Great Britain at the beginning of 1990 and registered in the Kennel-club. Such dogs grow up to 27 inches and have a rather solid body and head. The coat color varies from light red with white to red with white. The dog is rather attractive; it’s easy to clean him even after a long walk on the fields. The Bracco Italiano is, strictly speaking, not a gundog, but that doesn’t mean that he isn’t a good hunter.
