The Scottish Terrier’s ears stand upright, and there is a lot of thick hair on his muzzle in the form of beard. More often you can find black or spotted coat with dark shadings. But sometimes you may find golden coloring. His dense, solid body is carried on strong legs, which look rather thick. This dog looks as though he is almost lying on the ground. When he trots he can look quite pompous.
Although he usually has a gentle temper, it would be wise not to start a fight with this dog.
