Desription .........  The Soft-Coated Wheaten Terrier, as one can tell from his name, has a soft thin wheaten coat. His height is 19.5 inches at the withers. He comes from Ireland, where he has been employed as a hunter, a guard dog, a shepherd and a helper at a farm. The Kennel Club registered this breed in Great Britain in 1943, and in the USA in 1973.

The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier has a good personality, loves people and behaves well towards other dogs. He likes exercise, and the more intensive the workout, the better. Although he has a rather long coat, it’s not difficult to keep it in order—you just need to give it a regular trimming when possible. This dog eats exactly as much as he needs, and no more.
