Desription .........  The Irish Water Spaniel is a dog for an experienced owner. At 23 inches, he is rather tall for a Spaniel. Altogether the Irish Water Spaniel is more Retriever than Spaniel. He is covered with a liver-colored curly coat, except for the muzzle, the front part of the neck and 2/3 of the tail, which looks like a whip. When he gets wet, this dog shakes off the water in a very peculiar way.

Fans of the Irish Water Spaniel claim that these dogs have a good sense of humor. The Water Spaniel is energetic and enjoys all kinds of exercise. To properly groom this dog requires experience, knowledge of appropriate techniques, and persistence. It’s not a problem to feed him, as he has a moderate appetite. Based on his pleasant personality and energetic nature, this breed deserves to become more popular.
