Desription ......... The name of this dog, the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, may sound amusing to some people because it sounds rather unusual. This duck hunter does the same work as the Dutch Kooikerhondje, but uses a different method to drive ducks and other waterfowl into a trap. Constant wagging of this dog’s tail, and his frolicking in the water, engages ducks’ curiosity and brings them close enough so that the hunter can shoot. After that, the dog fetches the prey. Dogs of this breed can reach a height of 20.5 inches; the coat color is red or orange, of middle length, with tows, especially on the tail. Because the Duck Tolling Retriever has a cheerful personality and is eager to learn and be trained, he can become a good member of the family.
