Title
:  Working Rottweiler
Year
:  1990
Rating

Desription .........  This German dog is attractive and strong, with males of this breed reaching heights of up to 27.5 inches. The Rottweiler has a solid body with a mighty muscular system, and is very clever as well, though there are differences in temperament between dogs and bitches. Bitches are calmer and their reactions are more predictable.

The coat of a Rottweiler is short, in a black or fawn color, usually with fawn accents over the eyes on a black face. Breeding of Rottweilers is best left up to experienced breeders, who are able to devote much time and energy to their dogs. The Rottweiler breed deserves the enthusiasm it receives, but these dogs must be controlled in a strict manner.

Skin tags on my dog : I have a Rottweiler and we have had him for about 6 years now. She is doing well and she is very healthy with no disease or sickness at all but a few months ago I saw that there was a huge skin tag on his tummy. It is huge and I think that it is about 1 to 2 inches big. I was really worried because I thought that he was sick so I asked the vet and she said that I have nothing to worry about for it is not harmful. She said that she will only take it out if she thinks that it is a threat. I asked another vet, who is a friend of mine, and she also said the same. Can we still have it removed because it bothers us to see it.

My dogs are anti-social : As you all know, my husband and I rescued a female German shepherd and we named her Asia because we have always wanted to go there. I know it is a weird name for a dog but we are in love with it so we do not care. Anyway, I have two older Rottweilers at home and I think that they do not like Asia because when she comes near them they would bark at her like crazy. Is there any way that I can make them to get along with each other? The dogs are OK but they do not seem to like our new baby. Help me please because I want them to get better so that they can play with each other.

Suggestion on what breed I should get : I want to get a watch dog for my family but I am also thinking of other things to consider. I want a dog that is medium in size like maybe a German shepherd or Rottweiler but I also want a dog that will work OK with my 3 young girls that always have their friends going in and out of the house. Will that be a problem because my friend told me that dogs do not do well with children they do not know. Also, I want a dog that will not need a lot of exercise like maybe all I can give them is 30 to 40 minutes a day because I work and I also take care of my kids. Thank you! I hope that you will be able to help me.

Your favorite dog breed : Hey guys! I just want to know what is your favorite breed of dog and why? As for me, my favorite is Shih tzus because they are easy to take care of and they are really adorable. I own two of them and I love them because they love playing a lot and they are also sweet and loving. My young sister even carries them and they do nothing and not even a single bark. I love that they are quiet because I can't stand dogs that bark all the time. However, I am still open to get new breeds and I hope that I can more info about them here. What about you? Share your favorite breed of dogs here and let's talk about them.

Help me name my new puppy : My sister's Rottweiler just gave birth to 4 cute little puppies a month ago. I asked her if she could give me one and I was glad because she agreed only if I promised that I would take care of him. My sister brought him here a few days ago and he is the cutest dog that I have ever seen! I have a problem now because I do not what I should call him and I have no idea on what a good name is. I think that maybe I should call him Rambo because I think that is a very strong and powerful name. Besides, my boyfriend loves the movie so yeah. Do you have any other advice? I will really appreciate it. Thank you in advanced!

Doberman, German Shepherd, or Rottweiler : I am thinking to get a new dog and I have my choices between a Doberman Pinscher, German Shepherd, and Rottweiler. I love big dogs but I also do not want a high-maintenance dogs. Do you know any other breeds that I can get? I am more into the Doberman because I like its over-all look and that it looks might and powerful. The Rottweiler more looks like a family dog and I think that my little kids will love it, but they may get afraid of the Doberman because of how it looks. Do you have any advice for me? Also, maybe you can share with me some info about these breeds of dogs? Thank you!

Rott keeps on barking : A few days ago I found a cute Rottweiler in my yard and I think that he is still young, maybe 6 or 7 months. I was hesitant to go to him first because I thought that he was aggressive but I was thrilled because when I came to him he was very gentle. I decided to keep him because he has no tag and he looked very hungry. Anyway, he gets along fine with the other dogs that I have at home and they play all the time running around the yard. I have a problem with him though because he keeps on barking all night long. He never stops barking at night and I do not know what is up with him.

My dog is behaving badly outside : I have had my dog Rottweiler for a few years now and things have always been great. He is very obedient and he follows everything that I tell him to do. You see, he is also spoiled because I give him all the things and treats that he wants even though I have to spend outside my budget. However, this past few months, his attitude is getting bad because when I take him out for a walk he would bark to other dogs and people. I tried to give him some treats so that he would stop doing that but it did not help. I am really losing my patience and it is irritating me a lot already.

New pup whines and cries a lot : My sister's Rottweiler gave birth and she gave me one puppy. It is nice because I have always wanted to have a dog and I feel that I am more responsible since I had her. Anyway, Alice is a spoiled brat and I give her all the things that she wants and even those that she does not need. However, she started whining just a few days ago and she does not stop. I am not doing anything wrong to her and in fact I love her dearly but all the whining is slowly getting to my nerves. What's up with her? I have never scolded her or even raised my voice. I do not know what is going on with her.

Fluff drying : I went to the groomers just last night to have all of my dogs groomed. I was very happy with Princess and Angel in particular for they came out really fluffy and really adorable. I asked the groomer about it and he told me that they used a certain method called fluff drying. I did not have to pay anything extra for it because I think they also have it in their grooming service. Anyway, is there any way that I can copy what they did at home or do I need to have those heavy duty things they use at the groomer's?

Amount you pay for dog food each month : How much do you usually pay for the food of your dog or dogs each month? I spent more than $400 a month on their food alone because I am feeding a total of 6 dogs which are 2 big Rottweiler who eats a lot, 3 Shih Tzu and a Poodle. I give them a total of 24 cups per day. I know, that is a lot because I feed them three times a day because they are very hyper-active dogs and they need all the energy because they run a lot around the yard and the park. I give 2 cups of TOTW for each Rottweiler and a cup each for the smaller dogs. TOTW is expensive thus the $400 spending.

He doesn't want to walk with me! : I have this new dog that I just rescued, right? I have been trying for days to walk him with me and Hunter but he seems that he doesn't want to walk with us. I tried giving him treats but nothing seemed to work. I was surprised though when my brother came over to visit and he willingly went for a walk with him. I was really surprised because of his reaction towards me. They went around the park for around 30 minutes and he seemed to enjoy it very well. They also played ball. What should I do regarding this problem?

Name for my new pup : I'll be getting my new pup Shih Tzu next week. I'll be adopting her because my cousin could not take care of them any longer. I am so excited but I still don't know what I should call her. The names on my list include Diva, Angel, Casey, or Queenie. I'm thinking of like a really girly name. We have a few names on our mind and we are really in need of help in coming up with a name for her. My boyfriend wants to call here Girly which I think is a little obvious. Do you have any other suggestions? Your suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Rescuing Dogs : I already have a Labrador Retriever named Hunter. Just the other day, I saw a Rottweiler outside our yard. I noticed that he was a little dirty. I was a little hesitant to approach him because I don't know if he is trained already or not. It was a good thing that he was very friendly. I looked for a tag and there was none. I then decided to rescue him. He looked very hungry and indeed he was. I am so glad that I rescued him and now I have two babies and they get along very well. How about you?

Giving gifts to your pet : Every Christmas, since I've had Ferb I have been giving him doggie treats and new toys. I really take the time to think about what I should give him. He really likes it and get all excited when I give him his presents. I even put the gifts in a nice wrapper and he would excitedly tear it apart. Last Christmas though, I was so busy with work I forgot to get a present for Ferb. I think that he was disappointed because I didn't have something for him. How about you? Do you give presents to your pets during Christmas or other occasions?

Is it alright to put down a dog? : My brother works in the pediatrics unit and he told us a story about what happened a few months ago. He said that they admitted a little boy who was bitten on the face by their family dog who has been them since it was a little pup. According to him, the dog was not provoked by the child but instead they were saying that the reason why it happened may be the boy accidentally hit the dog or something. What do you think should happen to the dog? Should he be put down? What do you think should the family do about this matter?

Do your dogs love car rides? : Do your dogs love taking car rides? Rocky loves it! He would usually sit on the passenger seat and he would bring his face out of the window. I hope you get what I mean. He does this a lot and it seems that he likes the fresh air blowing on his face. I had to hold him even while I am driving because he might get too engrossed with it. Also, I have heard some friends complaining that their dogs vomit in the car. It's really a good thing Rocky doesn't do it. How about you? Do your dogs love taking car rides or do they get dizzy easily?

Feeding ice to dogs : It is a very hot and humid day here. My sister made an ice block and we ate it together. My dog, Rocky came over and I thought that he might like it so I gave him a small block. He started licking it but eventually stopped. I don't think that he does not like it; I think that maybe the ice block is too cold for his tongue to handle. I'm not really sure, though. How about you? Have you tried feeding your dogs ice when it is very hot? Or do you know more about what should I give my dog or not? Help!

Are dogs capable of seeing supernatural beings? : Can dogs really see supernatural beings, more specifically ghosts? How many of you think that your dog can see ghosts, or have you experienced any of this? I have an experience about this. A friend of mine passed away several months ago. He was a very close friend of mine and he stayed here in our apartment for about 2 years and Rocky knows him very well. They always play fetch; I mean they have a great relationship. Well, there was this one night that I was already in bed reading a book when I felt a cold breeze entered the room. I knew immediately that it was my friend. I offered him a prayer and I noticed that Rocky also noticed the spirit who entered the room. He was barking at it and running around and around it like he wanted to play with it. It really freaked me out because I was able to prove that dogs can really see ghosts.

Rott kills everything! : So I have two Rottweiler dogs named Dragon and Wolf. They are very nice, loveable, and sweet. They are the sweetest dogs especially to my daughter. They would play around with her all the time and they would play fetch when we bring them outside to the park. They are very sweet dogs. Even when my daughter is pulling his ears, he doesn't react. He just sit there and don't do anything to harm my daughter However, I have noticed that Wolf has a very weird behavior. I have seen him plenty of times running after cockroaches, rats, grasshoppers, cats, and everything that he sees in our house and even outside. He runs after them and only a few survives because most of them becomes his meal. Is it normal for a dog to run after a mouse or other insects? I just think it's weird.

A New dog : So, I have a pet Shih Tzu and she just gave birth a few months ago. She's a very loving and loveable. I love small dogs but I have been thinking a lot that maybe I should get a bigger dog because my mom wants something that can protect us and guard our house. I know that is kind of lame but I am also thinking of getting a big dog because I think it is the perfect time to get a bigger dog like a Rottweiler or something. Do you have any suggestions? Can you recommend a dog that can play around with my pet Shih Tzu without harming her? Do you know any breed which is perfect for a big dog beginner like me? My mom suggested that we get a dog from the rescue so that we are able to help the doggies there.

Walking the dogs : Do you walk your dogs? And if you do, how long do you walk them? I walk my Siberian Husky for about an hour or so. I also bring him with me whenever I go running and we run together. I walk and run him a lot because he is a big dog and he needs all the exercise that he can get. We sometimes can go for about a mile but I make sure that I bring him water because he can get really thirsty and tired. I want to walk him longer though, like maybe two to three miles everyday. We usually go running in the subdivision near our house. I really love it when we go walking or running together because I feel protected when I am with him.

Favorite dog breed : What are your favorite breeds of dogs? I love many breeds of dogs whether they may be small or big ones. I love my Rottweiler dogs because even though some people think that they are aggressive and scary, they are really not. I think that they are one of the most sweet, caring, and protective dog that you can ever find. Although they can get overprotective sometimes, we really appreciate it because we know that they also love us. Another breed that I totally adore are Shih Tzu dogs. They are also very sweet and nice. They are also not hard to take care of. I love styling them up and giving them nice clothes from time to time, but not always.

How many dogs do you have? : My friends think that I am crazy because I really have a lot of dogs at home. I have now 2 beautiful rottweilers named Dragon and Wolf, 3 shih tzu named Princess, Angel, and Empress, a poodle we lovingly call Pink, 4 pugs named Tara, Basti, Chole, and Thirdy. I am thinking of getting more like a Pomeranian or another cute little poodle, like the very small one. I really love dogs. Can you blame me? They are really cute and loveable and they also make me feel really good whenever I am feeling down. They are like a family to me and I even sleep with some of them sometimes.

How about you? How many dogs do you own?

Best human food to feed the dogs : I am just wondering, what is the best human food that I can give our dogs? We've been having financial problems lately and a thought occurred to me that maybe I can feed our dogs the food that we are also eating, like left-over foods. Is it bad? I mean we are really trying to make ends meet and dog foods can get pretty expensive. We don't want our pet dogs to suffer. We still want to feed them.

Do you also feed your dogs human food? And if so, what are the best that I can give them? I haven't tried feeding them yet. We need help.
