Desription ......... The attractive and friendly Bernese Mountain dog is strong and large, capable of growing up to 28 inches in height. This dog has a solid body, with a soft and wavy coat of jet black with fawn and brown markings. A white star and white marking on the chest give the Bernese Mountain Dog a distinctive appearance. These dogs are related to the husky, and were often used by merchants to haul cartloads of goods to market.
