Desription .........  In their native land, Spitzes are divided into 5 groups: from Wolfspitz (21 inches) to Pomeranian (less than 8 inches). But only two varieties belong to the approved standard: The Middle Spitz (Mittlespitz), whose size is 12-15 inches, and The Miniature Spitz (Kleinspitz)—9-11.5 inches.

Apart from their size, these varieties are identical: they have pointed ears, a sharply defined solid body and a curled tail. A dense wiry coat protects them during a cold winter. Their coloration can vary, from chocolate to white, as well as being multicolored. After a thorough grooming the coat looks shiny. These dogs aren’t for lazy owners.

Spitzes have strong, cheerful personalities. They make a lot of noise when a stranger enters the house. But if they find out that the stranger is a friend, they treat him very well. They easily fit into any family and become good friends to people of all ages.
