......... The Old English Sheepdog, also known as the Bobtail, is another world-famous breed. This dog has come a long way from being a working Shepherd dog to becoming a show dog with his own style. Commercial use has made this dog popular, but this popularity has sometimes been to the detriment of the breed due to less than skillful breeding. The English Sheepdog’s height is about 24.5 inches, but his dense hair makes him appear even taller. The Bobtail is a happy extravert, and makes a wonderful family member that will quickly become the center of attention, despite occasional demonstrations of his explosive temper. The English Sheepdog joins into just about any activity with enthusiasm, and may be a perfect guard dog, protecting his owner’s property by barking to declare his presence.
