......... Perhaps the most unusual-looking breed, the Shar-Pei (also known as the Chinese Shar-Pei) is a dog with skin that gathers in numerous folds over its body and face, a face that often displays a look some have described as “gloomy.” The Shar-Pei’s rectangular head narrows slightly starting at the back and moving towards the nostrils, while the dog’s muzzle gives an almost stuffed appearance. A typical Shar-Pei has a height of 20 inches, with a solid, muscular body and strong legs.
